- My role
- Creative Director. On Dinotracker I led the website design and web strategy (the posting sequence, content plan, copywriting, and hidden easter eggs), directed my team through 15 of the in-world VFX sightings, and produced a leaked audio recording from Dr. Ian Malcolm. Three years later I creative directed the Jurassic World Rebirth Nest Cam end to end.
The film's premise is dinosaurs loose in our world. Partner studio Chronicle developed the idea with director Colin Trevorrow: an in-world Department of Prehistoric Wildlife tracker logging photoreal sightings across the globe. I shaped how it reached fans, from the website to the rollout. In 2025 I brought it back for Jurassic World Rebirth as a photoreal nest cam.
The call
I kept the tracker closed and authored so the canon stayed intact, and pushed fan participation out to social, where people could stage their own sightings. Centralize authority, decentralize participation.
Quetzalcoatlus Nest Cam (2025)
An homage to Dinotracker for Jurassic World Rebirth: a photoreal wildlife cam trained on a Quetzalcoatlus nest. I creative directed it end to end with two 3D artists and a designer. It premiered on the official Jurassic World YouTube channel on June 27, 2025, and fans picked it apart on Reddit.
Global tracker
I designed the site around an interactive globe of live sightings, each with coordinates, species, and a case file.
Posting sequence and copy
I planned the posting sequence and wrote the copy, dropping new sightings on a schedule through the month before premiere so fans had a reason to keep coming back.
In-world files
Canon-accurate dossiers on Biosyn and its executives and redacted internal documents. I planned where fans would find the easter eggs, including one hidden in the site's source code.
The Malcolm leak
I produced a "leaked" audio recording from Dr. Ian Malcolm, released as an in-world artifact for fans to find and share.
Photoreal sightings
3D dinosaurs composited into real-world footage. My team produced 15 of the in-world VFX shots alongside Chronicle's, and I composited shots myself when the schedule called for it.
